Heavy Back log at Airport, due to Peak Season WY, EY & EK only accepting Perishable and Express rate cargo for the movement. QR has canceled their 2 Freighter’s Generally Cargo is taking 6 to 7 days minimum transit for EUROPE. Air Lines are not giving any commitment for ETA under normal rates.
Mostly Airlines are closing the flights-3-4 days prior flight departing date.
We need to give the booking in one-week advance to Airline in order to secure the space / booking confirmation.

Sea Export / Import Movement is under Normal now, Due to cyber-attack on Maersk Line/ Safmarine – system there are some delay to get booking/ releasing documents.

Still Chennai AirPort is facing the PEAK SEASON issue, Airport Operation is having very pathetic situation AIR PORT ramp has no space to off load the cargo, minimum 10 to 12 Hrs taking once Truck reached at Air Port to get offload. Some air Lines are accepting the shipment under Express rates upon the request for immediate flight, All Europe carriers are giving preference only on Express rates cargo and increased their rates even though they are not able to give confirm schedule. Due to BRU – HUB huge back log we have requested QR to route our France shipment via LUX/LGG. WY/EY facing space issue for PARIS. Qatar has canceled their Flight for today (31.07.2017) so some backlog expecting in this week.
COCHIN – SEA PORT
CMA-CGM – Direct Europe vessel is skipping Cochin Port of Call this week. All Cochin Port planned container for this week vessel, moving to Colombo to connect the same vessel.
CALCUTTA – SEA PORT
Export: – Calcutta Sea Port is facing lot of problem berthing and Sailing by Feeder vessel since last 3 weeks, all feeder vessels are getting delayed by one-week minimum from the ETD given earlier.

Airport Operation is under Normal now.
The congestion at Chittagong is still persisting with high yard density and long waiting time for vessels at outer anchorage. In addition, Monsoon season with frequent heavy rains and gusty winds interrupting overall operations.
Container yards inside port is over utilized mainly due to imports standing in the terminal causing difficulties in movement of export containers from Depots to vessel hook point and vessel operations as well. And as chain reaction the berthing congestion and waiting time at outer anchorage is increasing. Currently the Waiting time is up to 10 days, depending on vessel type.

Yard utilization as on 26th July as follows:
Shipping Ministry/FBCCI/BGMEA and other trade bodies are putting pressure to Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) for to bring down the container vessel’s waiting time as it is damaging/delaying their normal production/shipment from or to Bangladesh.
To ease up the berthing congestion, Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) has taken few measures. Following are the major ones.
a) CPA official (verbally) informed that gate-entry for export containers will be stopped against any particular sailing vessel 6 Hrs prior vessel sailing / pilot on board time. Because of this new change, there is greater risk of export containers missing planned feeder vessel as vessels are forced to sail leaving behind the containers.
Considering the situation, urging you to dispatch export laden from depot directly to the vessel hook timely to avoid risk of shut outs from vessel.
b) CPA strictly following stipulated time for vessel port stay; GEARLESS vessels port stay 48Hrs and for the GEARED vessel highest 72Hrs port/berth stay upon which vessel will have to sail even if loading operations is not completed.
