Carry out critical literature review in the related field of research;
Develop, test and produce sample of non-woven natural fiber mats to achieve appropriate physical, mechanical (including thermal) characteristics.
Develop, test, optimize and produce non-woven fiber mat-based composite panels with appropriate mechanical and thermal characteristics;
Assist in retrofitting of the container-based houses/offices with suitable passive/active measures;
Prepare and install the instrumentation, including sensors and data loggers, for collecting specific parameters on the indoor/exterior conditions and performance of the container systems;
Perform building energy and dynamic simulations to analyze the system performance;
Conduct data collection, processing and analysis;
Prepare regular progress reports and a final comprehensive technical report;
Assist in the presentation of results obtained.
Perform any other cognate duties as defined by the Project Leader and by the collaborators from the University of Mauritius.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering, or BEng (Hons) Mechatronics Engineering with at least a Second Class Second Division Honors degree.
Good communication skills including technical report writing.
Knowledge of basic statistics and statistical analysis of experimental data.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
Ability to work within agreed timelines and to communicate clearly and effectively.
Willingness to acquire further knowledge/skills in current areas of competencies as well as to learn new concepts outside current areas of competencies.
