Job description

  • Validate all necessary documents for clearing of goods from customs.
  • Prepare and send draft of declaration of goods to client for approval and afterwards have documents validated by the Customs office (MRA).
  • Follow up and respond to queries from Customs, if any.
  • Check invoice and packing list received from customer service department, direct client and agent for vetting purposes related to permits or any other requisite from local authority.
  • Follow up of documents on the Customs Management System and ensure that all formalities are respected until payment is done.
  • Apply for Import Permit as per rules and regulations by local authorities.
  • Process of EUR1, SADC, COO and COMESA certificate.
  • Provide feedback to Team Leader concerning all important issues to find out appropriate solutions promptly.
  • Be able to handle customs declaration for sea customs formalities.
  • Assist in any cognate duties.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

  • Higher School Certificate or any other qualifications acceptable to Management.
  • 3 years of relevant working experience in Customs Brokerage and Freight Forwarding Business including Customs Procedures and preparation of Import and Export Declarations.
  • Well versed with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Strong personality with excellent communication skills in both English and French.
  • Should be creative, team player, proactive, resourceful and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Possess a valid driving license.
